Tree planting
Tree cutting for charcoal and farming are the main activities that drive deforestation to the wildlife corridor and migratory area of Mikumi national park. SAVE WILD club is running tree planting project that aim to restore the degraded areas. The project involves establishment of tree nursery and tree plating.
The nursery have seeds of native trees like Marula tree (Sclerocary birrea) and faithebia albida that is preferred by elephants. Other plant species that are the ones that increase soil fertility like gliricidia sepium that help to increase soil fertility for farmland.
